DC Homegrown Entertainment is the culmination of two DC-born and raised women.
Our vision and goal is to write, direct and produce television programming and films that tell interesting and thought provoking stories. Our concepts are fresh and original and ready to be told.
K. NICHOLE WORSLEY | WRITER / PRODUCER - Nichole is a native Washingtonian whose family roots and ties are deep in the Washington, DC community. She comes from a family of entrepreneurs who strongly believe in making your mark on history. Nichole's background includes photojournalism, writing poetry and business. She's a graduate of Calvin Coolidge High School in DC and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She has also completed additional training including classes and seminars at the Los Angeles Screenwriting Expo and other workshops.
LINDA M. GENTRY | WRITER / DIRECTOR - Also from Washington, DC, Linda has a background in writing, graphics, and social and healthcare marketing. She attended DC public schools and is a graduate of Calvin Coolidge High School. She attended the University of the District of Columbia and the USDA Graduate School where she studied journalism. She obtained a degree in Business Management from Prince George's Community College and is currently studying Mass Communications there. Her background includes writing, film editing, and web design. She has also completed additional training including writing workshops, classes and seminars at the Los Angeles Screenwriting Expo.

Nichole and Linda grew up together in northeast, Washington, DC. They were the founders of several community entertainment groups that produced dance and fashion modeling shows. "For without a vision, the people perish." -- Proverbs 29:18.

Annapolis Film Festival Shorts Challenge
April 6, 2024 - Pitched "REWIND" - a short, silent film, shot in black and white that explores three points of view from a doomed relationship. The original score drives the mood, emotion and story of the three characters. In a crime of passion, seeing is believing. We made it to the final round!

REWIND
A silent B/W short film where "in a crime passion, seeing is believing." Shooting in “point of view,” REWIND tells the story
from each character’s perspective. This compelling technique draws the viewer in differently each time and gives the feeling
that they are in the character’s shoes making them the killer, victim and eyewitness to the crime. The original score drives the
mood, emotion and story of the three characters.
Sister, Sister, Sister
Loosely based on an almost true story. A short film about three sisters from three different eras, that find each other through
the death of their biological father. They discover life, love and forgiveness when they meet for the first time. We had the opportunity to
work with writer/producer and actor,
Angel Harper; actor, well-known writer and producer,
Rana Kirkland; and Howard University alumni, actor, writer, and producer

Grandma Was a Gangster
An original comedy feature screenplay. Logline: Desperate not to lose a home to foreclosure, three 60-ish best friends devise a
wacky plan to rob a chain of retirement homes that employ unscrupulous practices.

Kitchen Diva
A TV sitcom pilot script with additional episodes to accompany the pilot. Logline: When an elderly cooking show host who
shows signs of 'slipping' has determined that the show must go on, her production team and family do all they can to keep it from
unraveling while she's live on the air doing her daily show.
Unspoken Word
An original dramatic stage play. Logline: A teenaged girl learns to rely on spoken word as an outlet for dealing with
the problems in her life. An original book of poetry from the play is also available.
The Zebra Syndrome
The Zebra Syndrome is based on the 70s hit “Watermelon Man” but not like you might remember! It tells the story of Marcie Stephenopolos’ dramatic
accidental change in physiology and status. She believes a homeless woman cursed her and she goes to sleep as a white woman and wakes up black.
She has to adjust to her new life in many ways and make the best of her new situation. (treatment available)
